John DeMers is a Houston based journalist who hosts his own radio show called Delicious Mischief. DeMers has spent the previous 30 years traveling over 136 countries to taste all kinds of different and delicious foods. He then realized that all of the wonderful dishes that he experienced could be found right here in Texas!
A native of New Orleans, John grew up cooking alongside his parents and reading cookbooks with them after their meals. He went on to earn his BA in journalism at Boston University and his MA at Louisiana State. John has published 40 books featuring his food traveling experiences and served as editor for Texas Foodlover magazine. He is currently working on several more to come!
Recently, DeMers was a guest here at our Granbury Texas Bed and Breakfast. He toured around numerous restaurants here in Granbury, Texas and wrote a wonderful blog about his experiences: A Great Big Bite of Granbury.

Neither of the owners is a trained chef, but they both traveled and tasted extensively in other business careers before opting to be innkeepers. Today, they follow their taste buds in some exciting directions – such as this indulgent pina colada French toast made with croissants and sided with a buttery rum sauce.”
